The Pharmacological Importance of Some Diazine Containing Drug Molecules

Two nitrogen atoms containing heterocyclic compounds or diazines, pyridazines, pyrimidines and piperazines are important structural feature of many biologically active compounds and show diverse pharmacological properties. These diazines hold considerable interest in the preparation of organic intermediates and physiologically active compounds. Diazines focus our attention because of their easy fictionalization, which makes them attractive synthetic compounds for designing and development of the novel drugs in future. The potential biological activities of diazines are cardiovascular, neurological, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, etc. Diazine is an important lead owing to its inherent properties and therapeutic actions. Many of the successful drugs are having diazine ring as pharmacophore.
